About MMA
Mid-Missouri Artists, Inc.
was established in 1970 to encourage area artists in their creative endeavors and to foster, promote, and advance the existing cultural and educational organizations in Mid-Missouri. MMA provides an environment where artists and those interested in art can meet, share, and exchange ideas and information about the art world in general. Current membership includes persons from12 Missouri counties and 4 states.
Get Involved
DO I HAVE TO BE AN ARTIST TO JOIN MMA?
- No. The organization is open to both artists and those interested in art. Consider supporting art in Mid-Missouri through a business or corporate booster membership.
WHAT KIND OF ARTISTS BELONG TO MMA?
- Members have a variety of artistic talents which include painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media, pastels, colored pencil), drawing, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, fiber art, and photography.
CAN I ATTEND MEETINGS IF I’M NOT A MEMBER?
- Yes. Visitors and guests are always welcome. The meetings are announced in the local newspapers
COMMUNITY CONTRIBUTIONS
MMA DOROTHY HAWKSLEY EMERGING ARTIST SCHOLARSHIP
- Annual scholarships presented to UCM Art and Design majors.
DONATIONS
- MMA members donate children's art supplies annually to the Survival House, an adult domestic abuse survival center.
With Sedalia Visual Arts Association, monetary award to three artists in the Junior 50 at the Missouri State Fair.
